So the month of January 2009 is virtually over.
Before I highlight the point of this post i'll do a quick recap of the rest of the month that wasn't blogged as it's been a bit dry in terms of regular posting my very plain life, and I feel I will clear up a few gripes with January.
Well it's been as cold as ever and as miserable as ever... (interpret that as you will.)
I'm working in town which is a bit of a pain as travelling can be quite the chore, but alas we do what we do to make that paper.
I bought my first car, so be sure to see the hit and run rate rapidly rise to an alarming high figure.
Tomorrow I go to Brighton to the Brighton Tattoo Convention - very stoked on that. I have been needing to get away for some time.
But enough of that!
This month has been a good month for me in terms of reading hence why i'm starting this as a monthly feature.
Reading is something i've always enjoyed but over the years for whatever reason i've struggled to become attached to books enough to see them through, bar the odd one, but for some reason 2009 has changed all that.
So this month has seen me reading four books including the one i'm on just now, they are as follows:
'A Clockwork Orange' by Anthony Burgess
'The Road' by Cormac McCarthy
'Touching from a Distance' by Deborah Curtis
'The Smiths: Songs That Saved Your Life' by Simon Goddard
I am pleased that i've had virtually a book a week and not only that, but all the books are varied in style and even type (fiction, non-fiction, memoirs etc...)
So i'm thinking at the end of every month I will list and maybe share some thoughts/opinions/recommendations on the books i've got through that month hence the 'Book club' part of the title.
"'There's more to life than books, you know. But not much more..."
